Systems
Administrator
Systems Administrator Job Summary:
Duties and responsibilities of a Systems Administrator:

Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware and software.

Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability.

Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
-
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in systems like Active Directory.
-
Ensure the security of systems through firewalls, antivirus, and other tools.
-
Perform regular backup operations and implement disaster recovery protocols.
-
Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
-
Respond to and resolve help desk requests, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Maintain documentation of systems, networks, and procedures.

Coordinate with vendors and support teams for hardware and software purchases, issues, and upgrades.
Required skills and experience:

Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
-
Proven experience as a system administrator, network administrator, or similar role.

Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.

Experience with Windows/Linux servers and virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
-
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
-
Familiarity with backup and recovery tools and strategies.
-
Understanding of IT security principles and practices.

Clear effective communication skills with resolutions

Able to work with multiple clients and internal employees efficiently and respectfully
Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, Linux+, or similar.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
