Visual Guide: How to Upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11

✅ Step 1: Check System Compatibility
Before upgrading, ensure your PC meets Windows 11's minimum requirements:
Processor: 1 GHz or faster with 2 or more cores
RAM: 4 GB or more
Storage: 64 GB or more
Graphics Card: DirectX 12 compatible with WDDM 2.0 driver
System Firmware: UEFI, Secure Boot capable
TPM: Trusted Platform Module version 2.0
Display: >9” with HD Resolution (720p)
To verify compatibility:
Download and run the PC Health Check tool.
Open the tool and click Check now.
Review the results to see if your PC is eligible for the upgrade.
💾 Step 2: Backup Your Data
Before proceeding, back up your important files to prevent data loss:
Use OneDrive: Go to Settings > Accounts > Windows Backup, and enable cloud backup.
Or use an external hard drive.
Optional: Use a third-party backup tool like Macrium Reflect or AOMEI Backupper for a full system image.
⚙️ Step 3: Update Windows 10
Ensure your current Windows 10 installation is up to date:
Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
Navigate to Update & Security > Windows Update.
Click Check for updates.
Install any available updates and restart your PC if prompted.
🚀 Step 4: Upgrade to Windows 11
Option 1: Upgrade via Windows Update
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Click Check for updates.
If Windows 11 is available for your PC, you'll see an option to Download and install.
Click on Download and install and follow the on-screen instructions.
Your PC will restart several times during the installation process.
Option 2: Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant
If the upgrade isn't available through Windows Update:
Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
Open the tool and click Accept and Install.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade
🔄 Step 5: Post-Upgrade Setup
After installation:
Sign in with your Microsoft account or create a new one.
Choose your privacy settings.
Customize your preferences, such as theme, language, and region.
Once setup is complete, your PC will boot into Windows 11.
